The way of the Cross
God is love
God is love
Father, let this suffering pass from me;
yet not my will but yours be done.
May you be blessed forever.
Jesus, Son of God have mercy on me.
With you I am nailed to the cross.
Let my pain be mingled with yours
for the saving of the world.
Holy Spirit, comforter and consoler,
heal what is sick in me,
strengthen what is weak,
sweeten what is sour and cranky.
Save me from depression and self-pity;
nenew my courage
bring me to pray with Jesus on the cross:
Father, into your hands I comment my spirit

God's loving care

Father,I thank you for your promise
that nothing can come between me and
and the love of Christ,
even if I am troubled and worried
when I am ill
even if I suffer;
because I am certain that neither
death nor life,
nothing that is past;
nothing here and now,
nothing that is to come,
can come between me and Your love

Sally.

Father,may your Kingdom of truth and life,
justice and peace, love and forgiveness
be spread to the ends of the earth.
May your people everywhere receive their daily bread
and your beautiful and life giving creation be respected.

Jesus said to His diciples:Stay awake, because you do not know the day when your master is coming. You may be quite sure of this,that if the householder had known of what time of the night the burglar would come, he would have stayed awake and not allow anyone to break the wall of his house. Therefore, you too must stand ready because the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
What sort of servant, then,is faithful and wise enough for the master to place him over his household to give them their food at the proper time? Happy the servant if the master's arrival finds him at his employment.I tell you solemnly, he will place him over everything he owns. But as for the dishonest servant who says to himself,'My master is taking his time;he sets about beating his fellow servants and eating and drinking with drunkards, his master will come on a day he does not expect and at an hour he does not know. The master will cut him off and send him to the same fate as the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and grinding of teeth"So always keep focused on the Lord, never lose sight of Him.

Matthew 24:42-51

Jesus is condemned to death,
Think of Jesus, after having been scourged and crowned with thorns, was unjustly condemned by Pilate to die on the Cross.
Jesus recieves the Cross,
While carrying the cross on his shoulders, He thought of us, and offered for us to his Father the death he was about to undergo.
Jesus falls the first time under the cross.
Consider the first fall of Jesus under his cross. His flesh was torn by the scourges,his head was crowned with thorns;he had lost a great quantity of blood.So weakened he could scarcely walk, he yet had to carry this great load upon his shoulders. the soldiers struck him rudely, and he fell several times.
Jesus is met by his blessed Mother
This of this meeting of a Son and Mother, which took place on this journey. Their looks became like so many arrows to wound those hearts which loved each other so tenderly.
The cross is laid upon Simon of Cyrene.
His cruel tormentors, seening that Jesus was on the point of expiring,and fearing he would die on the way,whereas they wished him to die the shameful death of the cross, constrained Simon of Cyrene to carry the Cross behind our Lord.
Veronica wipes the face of Jesus.
This holy woman named Veronica, seening Jesus so ill used, and bathed in sweat and blood, wiped his face with a towel, on which was left the impression of his holy countenance.
Jesus falls the second time.
Jesus falls the second time under the Cross;a fall which renews the pain of all the wounds in his head and members.The womem of Jerusalem mourn for our Lord, and wept with compassion at seening Jesus in such a pitiable state, streaming with blood, as he walked along, 'Daughters of Jerusalem said he, 'weep not for me, but for yourselves and for your children.
Jesus falls the third time,His weakness was extreme, and the cruelity of his executioners excessive,who tried to hasten his steps when he could scarcely move.
Jesus is stripped of his garments by the executioners, His inner garment adhered to his torn flesh,and the dragged them off so roughly that the skin came with them. Take pity on the Saviour so cruely treated.
Jesus is nailed to the Cross,having been placed upon the Cross,extended his hands,and offered to his Eternal Father the sacrifice of his life for our salvation, Those barbarians fastened him with nails, and then securing the Cross,allowed him to die with anguish on this infamous gibbet.
Jesus dies on the Cross.
Think of Jesus being consumed with anguish after three hours'agony on the Cross, abandoned himself to the full weight of his body, bowed his head and died.
Jesus is taken down from the Cross.
After our Lord ahd expired, two of his desciples, Joseph and Nicodemus,took him down from the Cross and placed hin in the arms of his afflicted Mother,who received him with unutterable tenderness, and pressed him to her bosom.
Jesus is placed in the tomb.
The desciples accompanied my his Holy Mother,carried the body of Jesus to bury it. They closed the tomb and all came sorrowfully away................

The Son of Man is going to His fate......

Then one of the twelve, the man called Judas Iscariot,went to the chief priests and said,"What are you prepared to give me if I hand him over to you?"They paid him thirty silver pieces, and from that moment he looked for an opportunity to betray him.
Now on the first day of the Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus and said, "Where do you want us to make the preparations for you to eat this passover?" " Go to so-and-so in the city,"he replied,"and say to them,'The Master says:My time is near. It is at your house that I am keeping passover with my disciples.
The disciples did what Jesus told them and prepared the passover..When evening came he was at the table with the twelve disciples.And while they were eating, "I tell you solemnly, one of you is about to betray me."They were greatly distressed and started him in turn, "Not I Lord,surely?"He answered,"Someone who has dipped his hand into the dish with me, will betray me. The Som of Mam is going to his fate, as the scriptures say he will,but alas for the man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed!Better for that man if he had never been born!"Judas, who was to betray him,asked in his turn,"Not I, Rabbi,surly?""These are your own words,"answered Jesus......
MATTHEW 26:14-25....
....................

His mother and his brothers came looking for Jesus, but they could not get to him because of the crowd, He was told,"Your mother and brothers are standing outside and want to see you.But he said in answer,"My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and put it into practice."
LUKE 8:19-21
....................
Jesus said to his disciples:"There is no sound tree that produces rotten fruit, nor again a rotten tree that produces sound fruit. For every tree can be told by it's own fruit:people do not pick figs from thorns, nor gather grapes from brambles. A good man draws from the store of goodness in his heart;a bad man draws what is bad from the store of badness. For a man's words flow out of what fills his heart.Why do you call me,'Lord, Lord'and not do what I say?" "Everyone who comes to me and listens to my words and acts on them - I will show you what he is like, He is like the man, who when built his house dug, and dug deep, and laid the foundations on rock; when the river was in flood it bore down on that house but could not shake it, it was so well built. But the one who listens and does nothing is like the man who built his house on soil, with no foundations:as soon as the river born down on it, it collapsed;and what a ruin that house became!"
LUKE 6:43-49
